Firstly, I'm going to say the only thing I'd like to direct at a particular person, which is to Bill. I am truly sorry to learn of your illness. We disagree politically 100% but I have more respect for you than you'll probably ever know. I don't know if you remember the time we sat and chatted on a Bluemoon meet up but I remember it well. What you've done in life and now in illness is incredible.
Secondly, thank you to those who expressed genuine warmth when I was very ill in early 2016. I think I read it whilst still in hospital and it was heart-warming. Sincerely, to those who meant it, sincerely thank you.
Thirdly, I don't wish to come back. I have a little girl now in the terrible twos and I don't have enough time for this forum, much less Bluemoon.
Fourthly, this forum was never intended to be a competitor to Bluemoon. That's why it has always been private and membership by invitation only. I didn't want or ask for conflict. I certainly didn't and don't have ability or inclination to run a large forum where people can post whatever they please with minimal effort on my part to keep it going. It was a backup to fall back on when threads were being pulled left, right and centre, mainly left, excuse the pun. Ostensibly many of those threads were pulled because of the outrageous posts by people trying to silence us. Which doesn't make any sense, because not only did you allow racists, for instance one of whom stated "Palestinians aren't even human beings" to achieve their aim by getting debate silenced but you did so by permanently banning most of us. I found it odd and questionable to say the least but I do not see myself as the guilty party. There was never any intention on my part to create a separatist forum where you belong to one or the other. Indeed, I actively discouraged the idea that you had to choose. I didn't even have an intention of leaving myself. The only thing that led to this was the fact that bans were handed like confetti in that period.
